Why it matters

The challenge

Developing countries grow much of the world's food but sell most of it raw, then import it back as processed food. Industry Development builds the processing, product development, quality systems and brands that keep that value at home and create work for young people.

  • Young, growing workforces need jobs beyond primary farming.
  • Few food brands from developing countries compete in global premium markets.
  • Raw commodities leave producing countries and return as imported processed food.

Our goal

Premium, traceable food products from developing countries that create jobs and export value.
